Astola Privacy Policy
Your conversations belong with you. Here is how Astola stores, shares and processes them.
Your chats stay with you
Astola saves your conversations and attachments on your devices and syncs them through your iCloud. We don’t operate a central chat server or receive a copy of your chats. Storage and sync are protected by your device, iCloud account and Apple’s security measures.
What you share
People you invite into a chat can access its messages and attachments. They may keep their own copies. An AI in the conversation can use chat context and respond to participants using the access you have enabled. Its replies may include information from its memories or connected tools.
The AI services you choose
Your selected AI, voice, media and tool services may receive the content needed for your requests, including messages, attachments, saved memories and tool results. Their own privacy policies apply. This content does not pass through an Astola chat server.
A compatible local model can process requests on your Mac. iCloud sync and any external services you choose still work separately. Account credentials may be saved on your devices or synced through your private iCloud; they aren’t shared as chat messages.
Support and beta feedback
We receive information you choose to send us, such as support emails or relevant logs, and use it to help you. If you test Astola through TestFlight, Apple may also share crash reports, testing statistics and feedback under its TestFlight terms.
Our website
Astola has no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. This website uses no advertising trackers or analytics scripts and does not collect signup email addresses. Cloudflare processes network information, including IP addresses, to host and protect the website and downloads.
Addresses submitted to the former beta waitlist are automatically deleted no later than 180 days after submission. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
Your choices
You choose your chat participants and AI services. Removing a chat from your device does not remove copies held by other participants or services. For privacy questions or to delete information you sent us, email support@astola.app.
